Practising What I Preach: Why I simplified my signature Roadmap to benefit you!
As a VA for interior designers, I’ve seen the same problems and headaches pop up again and again for my clients, no matter the niche of their design style or the size of their studio. My clients are always trying to catch up with quickly-evolving technologies, looking for ways to maximise the results of their efforts and make the most of the tools and resources they currently have in front of them.
At the end of 2024, I debuted my first free download to address these recurring issues. I poured dozens of late nights into this single document - and gosh, I was so proud to put it out into the world! ‘The Roadmap’ was jam-packed with helpful information as I tried to address every area of concern I regularly support my interior designers with - but it was a little too helpful, ya know.
Listening to the feedback of my subscribers and clients, I had to take my own advice; streamline and simplify.
I crammed too much into The Roadmap. By trying to tackle every topic and provide every solution I could think of, I made the document overwhelmingly large and unnecessarily complicated. So I broke it down, topic by topic. You only have to download the topic that relates to your current problem, and not hunt through tens of pages to read what’s relevant.
It was text-heavy, and you’re time-poor. I’m a reader, I love details and I could pour over documents all day. But I forgot to consider who else would be reading The Roadmap; busy interior designers needing fast, achievable solutions. So I prioritised the essential steps into a simple checklist for you. These are the must-haves that I walk all my clients through setting up. Each checklist item is easy to DIY and will help your interior design business to operate smoother.
In a short time, my tech tips were already outdated. ‘New new new, all the time’ is how it feels when your favourite software is regularly revamped with fancy features. And it’s so easy to quickly get left behind, leaving you with monotonous daily tasks that could easily be automated and taken off your plate. So I categorised all the relevant tools and the latest in AI tech into an easy-to-read and quick-to-access chart. Now you can clearly see what’s available to you inside the most popular software you’re probably already using, and now you can use it better.
I wanted to share more helpful resources than I could fit in the original Roadmap. I have more how-to-pages and links to amazing tools than you could poke a stick at! So I linked bonus resources and tutorials for each topic and some will even help you to implement the simple checklist.
What resulted is the NEW and IMPROVED Roadmap, disseminated into individual topics for you to troubleshoot on your own. Each topic can stand alone and will address individual areas for improvement in your studio, but the full effect is felt when each step of The Roadmap is completed.
